She Came at Night

 I remember exactly when my period arrived. She came on December 12, 2002 at 1:00 am in the morning. I was literally the last girl I knew who had not yet gotten her first visit from mother nature. I was obviously prepared considering how long it took. I was so excited when I saw that I was finally bleeding like everyone else. I woke up my mother in the dead of night just to share the happy news but I had to contain my excitement and whisper because I didn't want my dad to hear.
